HOWARD ALLEN GUDELL

Howard Gudell is one of the founding partners of SGI Global Business Advisors LLC, a consulting firm dealing with and advising clients on international economic development and business matters. Established in 2003, SGI advises and conducts work on behalf of public and private sector clients including governments, municipalities, chambers of commerce, business development organizations, institutions and private clients on matters relating to international business and economic development.

As an international trade and economic development specialist, Mr. Gudell helped clients create more effective international development strategies, developed client based trade programs, organized and lead overseas trade missions, prepared export places and helped source products, materials and advanced technology for his clients. He has assisted over 70- public and private clients worldwide.

He was the founding President of the Ohio-Israel Chamber of Commerce having worked with over 500 companies, helped bring 14 companies to Ohio and organized two of the largest overseas business exchanges to the State. He also represents the Binational Research and Industrial Foundation (BIRD), a grant making fund created by US and Israeli governments to promote joint ventures between Israeli and US companies.

He was the founding partner of CGI-International, Inc., an international trade and economic development consulting firm with offices in New York, Atlanta and Louisville; and representatives in Washington, DC, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Some of Mr. Gudell’s personal clients included the Government of Israel Export Institute and consulate in Toronto, US Defense Department/Fort Knox Army Base, Fulton County (Atlanta) Georgia, UPS, Burlington Goat Factory, as well as numerous private and public clients in Germany, France and Taiwan. He has worked for and with the Governors of New York, Georgia and Kentucky, and for Mayors in Cleveland, Louisville and Atlanta as the chief economic advisor.

Mr. Gudell is a frequent conference speaker and seminar leader, and speaks extensively on economic development and international business issues. He is a university lecturer, listed in several prominent national and regional biographical references and published articles in numerous professional and technical journals.

He was a contributing author to, “Economic Development Techniques for Local Government”, published by the International City Managers Association. In 1993, Mr. Gudell was appointed to a special advisory committee to assist in the development of a national export strategy for the Clinton Administration and authored the paper on multinational global investment.

He is a former Board Director for the National Council for Urban Economic Development; a former member of the SBA Kentucky Advisory Council on Small Business; past president of a major chamber of commerce in Kentucky and sits on several other national technical and professional boards.
